Changes to Traffic Organisation in the City Centre

Dear Residents! In connection with the organisation of Jarmark św. Dominika, we would like to inform you that a temporary traffic scheme is being introduced in the City Centre. The changes include, among other things, the introduction of one-way traffic on selected streets and detailed entry rules for holders of IGM permits. Please familiarise yourself with the list of changes below.

The Summer TOR (temporary traffic scheme) is in effect 29.06–12.07 i 23.08–30.08.2026 The Fair TOR (temporary traffic scheme) is in effect 13.07–23.08.2026 The SOD Lato (summer limited access zone) is in effect 29.06–30.08.2026 All car parks have spaces adapted for people with disabilities.

In addition to the traffic changes related to Jarmark św. Dominika, general changes to the Limited Access Zone (SOD) in the Main City also apply.

Traffic arrangements during Jarmark św. Dominika

The changes apply from 14.07 to 23.08.2025
The streets marked in colour on the map are the locations where the Fair will take place.
Click to expand detailed information about changes in specific parts of the city centre:

  • ul. Rajska – closed to traffic – the section from ul. Podwale Staromiejskie to ul. Heweliusza, as well as ul. Wielkie Młyny and ul. Podmłyńska
  • The streets Na Piaskach and Katarzynki will become no-through roads (so-called dead ends) at their junctions with ul. Rajska
  • Podwale Staromiejskie, on the section from ul. Lawendowa to its end towards ul. Wałowa, will be one-way in the direction of ul. Wałowa.
  • The section from Targ Drzewny to Lawendowa Street and Podwale Staromiejskie Street is closed to traffic. The diversion will be via Kowalska Street, Korzenna Street, Heweliusza Street to Rajska Street or further to Łagiewniki Street and Wałowa Street.
  • Grodzka Street and Stara Stocznia Street will be one-way streets towards Wałowa Street for access to the underground garage of the Brabank building.
  • The right-hand lanes of ul. Podwale Staromiejskie and ul. Grodzka will be designated as parking spaces within the Paid Parking Zone (SPP)
  • ul. Stolarska, ul. Igielnicka – one-way towards ul. Podwale Staromiejskie; ul. Mniszki – no changes

  • Access to the Main City area will be permitted only for holders of IMG identification (to SOD) and FGM sector parking cards, from Targ Drzewny, solely via ul. św. Ducha.
  • Entry to Szeroka Street from Targ Drzewny is impossible
  • Ulice Złotników, Szklary and Lawendowa – one-way traffic towards ul. Podwale Staromiejskie
  • Entry to the streets covered by the Fair is permitted for residents holding an IGM ID (for the SOD) and FGM sector parking cards between 20:00–10:00, and on Friday–Saturday between 21:00–10:00 in the food and drink zones
  • In the area around Targ Rybny and Skwer Świętopełka, temporary extensions to the entry closure times for residents are possible – please follow the instructions of security staff
  • Entry to Targ Rybny from ul. Podwale Staromiejskie is closed to traffic – access is via ul. Szklary along ul. Świętojańska (two-way), and via ul. U Furty–Tobiasza (one-way)

  • Szafarnia will be closed to vehicular traffic from the entrance to the underground car park of the Waterlane building to the intersection with Długie Ogrody Street.
  • The section of Długie Ogrody street from the roundabout of Seredyńskiego to the roundabout with Łąkowa street will be a one-way street towards Łąkowa street.
  • Szopy Street, at the intersection with Długie Ogrody Street, will be a dead-end street (no possibility to enter Długie Ogrody Street from the aforementioned streets).
  • Krowoderska Street and St. Barbara Street and Serydyńskiego Street will be dead-end streets (no possibility to enter Długie Ogrody Street from the above-mentioned streets).
  • Długie Ogrody, from Brama Żuławska to the entrance to car park P2 (residents) – two-way traffic
  • ul. Motławska from ul. Stągiewna and ul. Spichrzowa – one-way towards ul. Chmielna

First KOR Meeting ahead of the 766th Jarmark św. Dominika
This is the first of four planned KOR meetings, bringing together representatives of the services and institutions responsible for safety and for the smooth running of the city during the Fair. Around one table sit representatives of the police, the municipal police and the fire service, the ambulance service, the Sanitary and Epidemiological Station, the Department of Safety and Crisis Management, as well as the City Hall, the Gdańsk Roads Authority and the Gdańsk Green Spaces Authority.
Summer traffic management in the city centre
Due to Jarmark św. Dominika, temporary traffic arrangements are in force in the city centre from 13 July — changes to traffic directions on selected streets and special rules for residents using the car parks. Check the details.
What's new at this year's St. Dominic's Fair
New locations for exhibitors and more parking spaces for residents of Śródmieście – this is how this year's St. Dominic's Fair is expected to look. The Festival of Wonders will take place in the very heart of Gdańsk from 25 July to 16 August.
Inner City Fair – Resident's Day 15 August 2025
The St. Dominic's Fair Organiser cordially invites all fair neighbours – residents of the Śródmieście district – to take advantage of special attractions available only on this one, special day: 15.08.2025. We invite you to Przystanek Port Gdańsk pod Żaglami on Ołowianka Island, where a concert on the occasion of Polish Army Day will take place. Additionally, residents of Śródmieście will find discounts on refreshments at selected catering points of the Fair (detailed information below).   
Summer traffic management in the city centre
From 14 July, the assembly of the St. Dominic's Fair infrastructure will begin. This will involve a change in traffic management in the Gdańsk city centre. The changes will be in effect until 23 August. Find out what the new traffic management will look like during the Fair!
