A meeting with the custodians is one of the first formal steps in the efforts to inscribe selected traditions associated with the St. Dominic's Fair on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Several dozen people attended the consultations organised by the Kashubian Institute in Gdańsk, with exhibitors, artisans and guests of the Fair playing the most important role among them.

As part of the consultation – during the workshop part – participants jointly developed proposals for the scope of the entry and directions for protecting the Heritage of the Fair. All conclusions have been gathered and are currently being analysed.

One of the points was also the election of a representative for the custodians. Robert Niemiec from Pracownia Rękodzieła Jednorożec Unicornis in Olkusz was elected by acclamation. He is a craftsman and an exhibitor at the Fair, one of the custodians, supporting the inscription initiative. From now on, he will represent the community of custodians throughout the inscription process, co-create the content of the application and sign it on behalf of the community, confirming the authenticity and significance of this tradition.

In subsequent stages, the application for the tradition of the Fair to be inscribed on the intangible cultural heritage list will be developed based on, among other things, the findings from the conducted social consultations.

The application will be submitted before the start of the St. Dominic's Fair.
