To celebrate the 765th anniversary of the first St. Dominic's Fair, Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie (Gdańsk International Fair) is announcing a special photography competition. The Fair, which has its roots in Gdańsk's trading tradition, has attracted exhibitors and tourists for centuries, becoming an inseparable element of the city's culture. The first edition of the fair took place in 1260, and since then it has become one of the largest and most important summer festivals in Europe.
Over the centuries, the St. Dominic's Fair has evolved, blending traditional trade with modern elements. Today, it's a place where you can not only buy unique artisanal products but also taste dishes from various corners of the world, and participate in artistic and cultural events. The contemporary Fair is a Festival of Wonders, combining historical heritage with modern trends, offering both traditional crafts and innovative products.
The aim of the competition is to collect historical photographs that document the rich heritage of the St. Dominic's Fair. This is an excellent opportunity to share your archival photographs and contribute to the creation of a unique exhibition or album (depending on the number of photographs submitted) of this extraordinary event.
