To the only puppet theatre for children and young people in the Tricity area. For almost 80 years, we have been inviting children and their loved ones into a world of imagination, emotion, and shared storytelling. We create theatre that combines high artistic quality with attention to the needs and experiences of audiences of all ages. Our performances are attended by children, teenagers, families, and school groups from all over Pomerania and many other places in Poland. Every year we stage nearly 300 performances, which 55,000 viewers are watching.
The repertoire of Minuatures includes performances for the youngest viewers from 6 months of age, as well as shows for children and young people. We draw on both literary classics and contemporary texts from Poland and around the world. We are eager to discover new stories, stage Polish and world premieres, address socially important issues, and explore unconventional forms of theatrical expression – from puppet theatre to modern performance art.
We believe that theatre is a place for meeting and conversation. That's why we look closely at what's happening around us – both in our local community and in the world. We find inspiration close at hand, telling stories connected to Gdańsk and Pomerania, but also far afield, tackling subjects important to young people growing up in today's world.
An integral part of Miniatury's operations are educational and social activities. Throughout the year, we conduct theatre workshops as part of the Miniatures Academy, support the development of creators through the „Art is Being Made” residency programme, and organise numerous workshops and events accompanying our performances. We cooperate with cultural institutions, social organisations, and educational communities, creating space for creative action, exchange of experiences, and building intergenerational relationships.
Miniatura has been co-creating the cultural landscape of Gdańsk and Pomerania for years, remaining an open, friendly, and world-curious place. It's a theatre where you can come for your first encounter with art, but also for inspiration, conversation, and to spend time together.
