On 8 April 2026, the Gdańsk Centre for Contemporary Art opened in Gdańsk – a new institution formed from the merger of CSW Łaźnia and the Gdańsk City Gallery. The GCSA operates across five locations, where it produces and presents contemporary art, organises exhibitions, events and arthouse cinema. It runs educational programmes, workshops for schools and social initiatives. It collaborates with artists and institutions both in Poland and abroad. It is a space that encourages us to think and imagine the world differently.
I would like to build an art institution where a dream is not disqualified as naivety, but treated as a space for imagination, a starting point for agency, and one of the forms of collective thinking about the world.
Marta Kołacz, Director of GCSWFive locations, one city
GCSW operates in parallel across five locations: in Dolne Miasto (ul. Jaskółcza 1), in Nowy Port (ul. Strajku Dokerów 5), and in three spaces in Stare Miasto (ul. Powroźnicza 13/15, ul. Piwna 27/29, ul. Szeroka 37). Each location has its own programme and its own audience. The distributed institution model allows for both intimate local projects and larger initiatives connecting different spaces. All branches share a common ticket priced at 15 PLN, and admission is free on Fridays. In April 2026, entry to all locations is free of charge.
Co-operation within the St. Dominic's Fair 2026
The Gdańsk Centre of Contemporary Art remains open to collaboration within the framework of the St. Dominic's Fair programme. During its duration, it is possible to organise accompanying events to current exhibitions – guided tours, meetings, educational activities and other forms of engagement taking place in the exhibition spaces. Below you will find detailed information regarding the exhibitions running during the St. Dominic's Fair.
