Wonders that you will not buy on the Internet - straight from the hands of artists and craftsmen
At St Dominic's Fair you will find mainly things you won't buy in online stores. Clothes, interior design elements, practical home things such as quilts or plates, children's toys, local specialties or health -promoting products - most are created in individual copies or small series. These are the work of craftsmen and artists who often prepare for the festival throughout the year, putting both skills and hearts into their products. Each thing has its own history and characteristic features that distinguish it from mass production.
Even if you don't want to buy, it's worth coming to just see these works and meet their creators. Sellers willingly talk about their techniques, inspirations or creative process - for many of them the fair is the most important event of the year and an opportunity to directly contact the recipients. These conversations often turn out to be as valuable as shopping themselves, because they allow you to better understand the value of manual work and get to know people who in the era of automation still focus on traditional craftsmanship.
