Kociewie Festival

Get to know the Heritage of Pomerania!

The Kociewie Festival is one of the projects promoting the culture of one of the most important subregions of the Pomeranian Voivodeship during the St. Saint's Fair.

Dominica. It is a combination of several projects involving approximately 1,000 people. Local governments and institutions from the region are involved in their organization every year - (Poviat Office in Starogard Gdański, Local Tourist Organization KOCIEWIE, Fabryka Sztuk from Tczew, Starogard Cultural Center, Local Action Groups Chata Kociewia and Wstęga Kociewie, Poviats of Starogard, Tczew and Świecki and cities and the Kociewie commune. Each year, the event becomes more popular among the inhabitants of Pomerania, who are eager to learn about Kociewie's culture. It is also an excellent opportunity to show various aspects of Kociewie's culture outside the Region learn about the existence of the Kociewie Region and the ethnographic group of Kociewiacy.

Kociewie Festival in 2024, similarly to previous years, will consist of three elements:

  • Kociewski Pageant - 4:00 p.m
  • Kociewie Art - 18:00
  • Kociewski Jazz Evening - 7:30 p.m

Kociewski Pageant

A colorful march of the inhabitants of Kociewie, who invite passers-by to join in the fun by singing and dancing.

This is a unique element of the KOCIEW FESTIVAL, as well as the Saint's Fair. Dominica. Kociewie music and street dances in colorful Kociewie costumes show Kociewie as an interesting region that, with its cultural offer, reaches out to Gdańsk residents and allows them to join in the celebration. The Kociewski Pageant always attracts great interest from passers-by and tourists. The group of marchers is growing every year. They are mainly residents of Pomerania who call themselves Friends of Kociewie. 📍Pageant Route:

Kociewie Art

Exhibition of works by artists (painters, graphic designers, sculptors, etc.) related
to Kociewie organized at the Baltic Sea Cultural Center.

The ceremonial opening will take place on the day of KOCIEW HOLIDAY, and the artists' works will be available at the exhibition a few days after the event. Cultural units from Tczew, Starogard Gdański and Świecie will be responsible for the selection of works. Kociewie ART is primarily intended to show visitors to the Baltic Sea Cultural Center a contemporary approach to art created in the region. The development of contemporary culture and art of the Region is an important element for the inhabitants of Kociewie, who are looking for their roots by rediscovering heritage and traditions. This year, the exhibition will present the works of: Magdalena Haras, Adam Jakub Haras, Aleksandra Mocny and the painting group of the Society of Lovers of the Secular Land. 📍Old Town Hall ul.

Kociewski Jazz Evening

Live music at the Absinthe Pub, during which musicians from the region will perform: Adam Wendt, Piotr Chrapkowski, Krzysztof Paul, Adam Golicki
