Equality Day

Different but equal

We invite you to the unique Equality Festival, which will take place on August 10 and 11 as part of the Equality Stop at Heweliusza Square!

This two-day event aimed at implementing the social campaign "Gdańsk as the City of Equality" under the slogan "Hate means hatred", promotes the ideas of equality, integration and mutual respect, organized under the honorary patronage of the Minister for Civil Society.

The event's partners are the City of Gdańsk and the Youth Council of the City of Gdańsk.

Zones and attractions

Presentation Zone

Here, participants will be able to learn about the activities of various organizations and projects promoting equality. Their positions will be presented by, among others:

Senior Zone – Green Lounge

A place for intergenerational integration, where seniors meet young people. The program will include workshops, meetings and time to relax surrounded by greenery. Additionally, the Green Gallery will be a space where seniors will be able to present and sell their works of art.

Youth Zone – Equality Corner

A friendly place to rest in a summer garden full of flowers. This is where young people will be able to relax and participate in creative workshops.

Attraction Zone

Lots of fun and integration through various attractions. The program will include concerts by young artists, silent disco, karaoke, zumba and many other activities that connect generations. The "A ray of help in a glass of lemonade" campaign, i.e. a competition for the best lemonade organized by the youth councils of Pomerania, will attract special attention.

Workshops and meetings

In addition to numerous performances and shows, participants will be able to take part in DJ, rap, graffiti, Korean calligraphy and tree protection workshops with Greenpeace. There will also be interesting lectures and debates, including: on the impact of school and media on young people's mental health and human rights.

Stage Zone

The stage area will host concerts of local bands, debates and thematic quizzes. They will perform, among others: Sara Kordowska, Silvertale Fox and Dance Academy MyWay. We will also have a unique silent disco, where each participant will be able to choose their favorite music.

Consulate Zone

There will also be an international accent. The consulates of Bulgaria, Moldova, Hungary and Germany will present their stands in the consulate zone.
