
24. The St. Dominic's Fair Grand Prix has been decided. The winners in three categories have been announced. The Good Idea Grand Prix was awarded to Dariusz Ogłaza – ZESTRUGANE.pl for wooden goodness – original cutting and serving boards. The Good Treat category was won by Pan Trójniak from Meadway for their regional mead with pepper and elderberry. Finally, in the Good Taste category, RC Reinaldo triumphed with their Cuban dish ropa vieja.
The Grand Prix awards have been presented during the St. Dominic's Fair since 2001. It is a prestigious competition for all exhibitors, aiming to consistently raise the quality of the presented offers and promote the best exhibitors.
On Thursday, the competition jury visited the fairground stalls to select, judge, and award exhibitors in two categories. Good Idea – for the best craftspeople and artisans, and Good Treat – for exhibitors with food offerings.
The Grand Prix Good Idea was awarded to Dariusz Ogłaza – ZESTRUGANE.pl for "wooden goodness" – original cutting and serving boards, created with passion. Two honourable mentions were also awarded to: Sztuka – AZ for original textile creations and W Wirażu Kolażu – Łukasz Kuleta for artistic collages.

The Grand Prix Dobry Smakołyk was won by Pan Trójniak from Meadway in Wilków for their regional mead with pepper and elderflower. A special distinction went to Otomańska Pokusa for traditional Turkish sweets made to an original recipe.
This year the Good Taste category was refreshed, where the competition among market caterers could be followed on Friday at Skwer Świętopełka. Exhibitors prepared their dishes in two elimination rounds. They were judged by: Andrzej Polan and Sebastian Cichy, i.e. authorities in the culinary world, as well as the Chairman of the Grand Prix, Councillor of the City of Gdańsk Peter Wild Boar and Vice-President of the Gdańsk International Fair Paweł Orłowski.
The Grand Prix Dobry Smak was awarded by a jury to the following recipients: Azima – for their pilaf, and Piwnica Rajców – for their fried herring. The Grand Prix itself was received by the Cuban cuisine representative, RC Reinaldo – for their ropa vieja, or pulled beef with yellow rice.
The Grand Prix winners received statuettes, vouchers to the value of PLN 5,000 for the purchase of a stall at St. Dominic's Fair 2025, and commemorative diplomas, while the distinguished participants were honoured with vouchers from Polferries – for a cruise to Sweden, and commemorative diplomas. In the Good Taste category, the distinguished participants and winners additionally received gifts from the Lubiana Tableware Factory.
