Festival Of Wonders returns to Gdańsk streets. Gifts on the occasion of 765 years of St. Dominic's Fair

Gdańsk is preparing for the holiday that has not yet been! On July 26, 765 St Dominic's Fair - the oldest and largest outdoor festival of Europe, which this year is celebrating a round jubilee this year. For 23 days, the heart of the city will turn into a lively Festival Of Wonders , where history will meet with modernity, and every day will bring new attractions for whole families. There will also be jubilee gifts, such as the new version of Ołowianka.

Imagine a city that has been celebrating summer with a flourish, fantasy and openness to the world for 765 years, with a few breaks. Gdańsk, as every year, invites to St Dominic's Fair , but this time it is not only a tradition - it is a jubilee journey for centuries! From July 26 to August 17, the streets of the old and main city will turn into a multi -colored stage, where exhibitors, contemporary artists, gourmets and adventurers will meet in one place. This year's fair is a unique opportunity to feel the magic of the past inteiled with the pulsating energy of the present - and celebrate 765 years of tradition.

Jubilee of the Fair of St. Dominka is associated with many "gifts", which can be found in the space of the festival of wonders. One of them is the new edition of Ołowianka, at which there is the Port Gdańsk Pod Żagla stop. It is a "modern" market zone, a place of rest, where there will also be physical and cultural activities. The container climate corresponds to the shipbuilding Gdańsk climates, and at the same time fits into the current trends of modern family meetings or with friends.

- We started the market press conference with artistic performances. This also shows that St Dominic's Fair is changing: with a strictly commercial holiday, he is also becoming more and more a cultural event. This is appreciated not only by residents, but also visiting our city - last year the fair was visited by 1.5 million people - says Aleksandra Dulkiewicz , president of Gdańsk.

- 765 years of tradition obliges, I thank the Dominican Fathers, without whom the city of Gdańsk probably would never have been the privilege of the fair. Thank you to all partners, including the Gdańsk Port Board, which is a partner of space in Ołowianka, in which many cultural, artistic, but also culinary events will take place, because the fair is also becoming a gastronomic event. We will start the fair next Saturday at the Artus Court. It will last three weeks. Here is a great request, also from the inhabitants of Śródmieście: if we want to visit the fair, let's use public transport. Let me remind you that at the People's Zebrań Square we are creating the Park & Ride zone, with a promotional offer. If someone arrives by car, it makes it difficult to use great spaces that are prepared for visitors. I would like us to look at St Dominic's Fair as a support of local entrepreneurship, because among these 660 exhibitors almost 30 percent. These are entrepreneurs from Gdańsk - adds the President of Gdańsk.

The space of the Port of Gdańsk under the sails will bring many fair new products. This is where the premiere series of Chopin concerts in Ołowianka will take place. The piano recital will be played by Adam Kałdoński as well as professors and graduates of the Music Academy during Master and Student concerts. In a fair program with over 200 events, four of them will apply to the aforementioned cycle.

It will be the Kinguin gaming zone in Ołowianka, there will be meetings with yoga for everyone, and Lechia Gdańsk will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the club. St Dominic's Fair program is located at https://jarmarmkswdominika.pl/program-dzienny/ .

Pomeranian at the market

- I am very happy that the local government of the Pomeranian Voivodeship can co -create this unique event, which is 765. St Dominic's Fair - says Mieczysław Struk , marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

- This is not only a trade and culture festival, but also an opportunity to show the wealth of our region. This year, we especially want to pay attention to Kociewie - its flavors, traditions and cultural separateness. Exhibitors, including craftsmen and representatives of social economy, who are building a community and preventing exclusion through their work through their work through their work through their work through their work through their work will present on the street, which will be organized. It is also a year of craft of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, so there will be authentic handicrafts and local products. I cordially invite you to visit the Fair - not only the inhabitants of Pomerania, but also guests from all over Poland and Europe - adds the marshal.

St. Dominka is primarily exhibitors, whom we will find in the number of 662 at 745 stands this year. It is worth adding that 275 comes from Pomerania, of which 168 from Gdańsk and 208 from the Tri -City.

During this unique event, both buyers and artists who offer the most beautiful handicrafts - from intricately decorated ceramics, from unique jewelry to original textiles will meet. There will also be 18 world cuisines at the stands, and the premieres at the fair will have Damascus and PRL cuisine, and from Dubai strawberry products and frozen cheesecakes. Traditionally, collectors from all over Europe will also eat, and the offered treasures will include unique Vintage items that will certainly delight lovers of unique finds. This year's fair is 441 stands with craft and artists, 147 stands in the collector zone, 77 stands with foodstuffs and 80 stands with gastronomy.

Dominican stop

St Dominic's Fair could not exist without Dominicans, because they were its initiators and for centuries the carers of this unique tradition. It is thanks to the monks who in the 13th century obtained permission from the Pope to organize the annual holiday in honor of their patron, Gdańsk became a meeting place for merchants, craftsmen and residents from all over Europe. Without the commitment and vision of the Dominican St Dominic's Fair it would not become one of the most important and oldest events of this type in Europe, and Gdańsk would not gain such a colorful and lively tradition that has survived to this day.

At this year's Fair, one of the news is associated with its progenitors. The Dominican stop will appear in the space.

- St Dominic's Fair is a timeless phenomenon - a space in which everyone can share what they create and what they wear in the heart. We are glad that as Dominicans, we can co -create this event and invite residents and guests to our monastery - for concerts, performances, prayer and a moment of silencing in the rest area. It is important for us that we can be part of this community and history, which has been going on for 765 years - says the prior of the Dominican monastery in Gdańsk Michał Osek .

The program of the Dominican stop will include A performance on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, in the church, which was the only survivor, i.e. the church of St. Nicholas. In addition, there will be Organ concerts, respite zone and visiting the church of St. Nicholas.

Jubilees

This year's fair is not only the jubilee of the event. The program includes celebrations of several anniversaries. One of them was mentioned at the Port Gdańsk Pod Żagla stop. Another, very important for the fair, is 10 years of cooperation with the main sponsor, as well as the Przygoda stop - Ambersky and the Gdańsk carousel. For this reason, many surprises have been prepared.

- I can already reveal one of them. The observation wheel located in Ołowianka is with us for only a few weeks. The fair is one of the last chances to ride it and look at Gdańsk from a height of 50 meters. Later, he will go to the United States, and then a wheel will appear in Gdańsk by 10 meters higher, with spacious gondolas. It will also be set at a different angle so that the view from it to the Old Town is uninterrupted. The premiere of the new circle is scheduled for January 9, 2026 - says Katarzyna Szulc , a representative of Amberky.

Ambersky is a longtime sponsor St Dominic's Fair guaranteeing great fun under, among others such attractions as: Zone "Przystanek Adventure with Amberky", observation wheel, Gdańsk Carousel, or spinning coaster spinning barrels. This year, due to the Jubilee of Cooperation and the Fair, the sponsor took care of surprises, an extensive zone of attractions, more fun, smile and positive emotions as well as beautiful photo and film frames.

The new attraction at the Przygoda stop will be "Gold fever - a treasure hunter". This is a proposal for real treasure hunters who, like in gold rusher, will sulk out of sand, in water streams, "valuable stones". Treasures can be identified and check where they occur in nature and in what area in Poland, and most importantly, take with you in memory and may start a fascinating adventure with new passion.

However, at the Port Gdańsk Pod Sailing stop, in addition to the observation wheel and the Spinning Coaster "Virming barrels" there will be a Paraglider VR simulator.

In 2025, 30 years have passed since St Dominic's Fair is organized by the International Gdańsk Fair. The bread festival takes place from so many dolls. This year is also the 80th anniversary of the Pomeranian Chamber of Craft-and thus we have the Year of Pomeranian Craft, as well as 180 years of the Okocim Brewery, a longtime partner of the Fair.

- St Dominic's Fair is a real festival of wonders - says Andrzej Bojanowski , president of the Gdańsk International Fair.

- On 60,000 square meters, we create a space that is to be safe, friendly and full of surprises. We extremely appreciate cooperation with the city, services and residents - it is thanks to them that we can act better and better. I appeal to all guests: use public transport, respect the space in which Gdańsk residents live - this is their home. We are here only for a few weeks, which is why we want to be welcome guests. We listen to comments, react, learn - and thanks to this we raise the bar every year. Follow our social media, share your impressions - together we create this unique event - adds the president of MTG.

President Bojanowski also revealed that inspiration with the tradition of the Fair and the 80th anniversary of the Craft Chamber meant that the entry of St Dominic's Fair to the NID (National Heritage Institute) was requested on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

During the Fair there will also be events related to the granting of Gdańsk's title of the European Capital of Gastronomy for 2025/2026.

- St Dominic's Fair combines culture, art, senses of tourists and residents in one space, in one event. The fair can not only feel, but also taste. Gdańsk is the European capital of gastronomic culture. Many events at St Dominic's Fair also draw on this. Our partners from the Gdańsk flavors project, which shows what local gastronomy is, present their culinary art at the fair, combining tradition with modernity - says Łukasz Wysocki , president of the Gdańsk Tourist Organization.

FAIR IN THE RESIDENTS' AREA

As in previous years, changes in the organization of traffic in Gdańsk Śródmieście are introduced in two stages. From June 16 to July 13, there is a holiday traffic organization that will return on August 24-31.

However, during the assembly and disassembly of the infrastructure St Dominic's Fair , as well as for the event (July 26 - August 17 - August 17), the Fair Organization of Movement will apply.
