As every year, temporary changes in traffic organization will be introduced in the center of Gdańsk. They will come into force on Monday, June 24 and last until Sunday, September 1. The first phase results from the summer traffic organization, the second, effective from July 15, is related to the St. Peter's Fair. Dominica. With minor differences, most of the changes will be analogous to previous years. Also this year, during the holidays, the limits of the Limited Accessibility Zone in the Main Town will be extended. To be able to drive vehicles there, you need an IGM ID or a FGM sector parking card.
– Holiday changes in traffic organization in the center of Gdańsk will be introduced in two stages. The first is the so-called holiday phase, which will start on June 24. There will be minor changes compared to previous years. On July 15, the installation of the infrastructure of the St. Fair will begin. Dominica. Holiday phase
– Summer in Gdańsk is primarily a tourist season full of numerous events, including the largest, the St. Dominic's Fair. Just like every year, we are introducing changes to protect both tourists and our residents during this period - says Agata Lewandowska, Municipal Traffic Engineer. These changes are intended to enable safe functioning, especially for the first-time users. Therefore, as in previous years, we are expanding the restricted access zone.
It will last from June 24 to July 14. It will then continue after the St Dominic's Fair, from August 26 to September 1. Below we present details of changes in traffic organization that will apply during this period.
Additionally, adjustments will be made to traffic lights in the following locations:
Phase of the St Dominic's Fair
– This year's St Dominic's Fair will be held from July 27 to August 18 for approximately 60,000 people. m2. It's a large space that we try to control as best as we can. Listening to the voices of the residents, it seems that year by year we are going in the right direction. Following the suggestions we receive during meetings with Gdańsk residents, just like last year, we will not find a fair on Długie and Rybackie Pobrzeże. This place is intended for walks and is ideal for admiring beautiful Gdańsk. In return, just like last year, the stalls will be located on ul. Podwale Staromiejskie and Grobla IV, where we created a new street - Artystyczne Podwale. There will be even more new products, but there will also be some well-known and popular accents. The first activities related to the installation of the infrastructure of the St. Fair. Dominika will be implemented on July 15 and will last until the start of the event, i.e. until July 27. – From Monday, July 15, we will start installing the fair infrastructure in the area of ul. Szeroka – says Marcin Latuszek, director of the MTG operational department. – Next, Pańska, Podmłyńska, Rajska streets. However, on the other side of the Motława, works will start the following week, i.e. on Monday, July 22. The assembly works will last until July 25, we are introducing exhibitors on July 26, and the fair will start on July 27. We start our dismantling works immediately after the end of the Fair, which ends on August 18, and we plan to complete them by August 25 at the latest - assures Marcin Latuszek.
During the periods when the fair infrastructure is being assembled and dismantled, there may be temporary disruptions and subsequent closures of streets or their sections. For the purposes of the Fair, the following streets of the Old Town, the Main Town and the area of ul. will be closed. Długie Ogrody: Szeroka, Tkacka, Kołodziejska, Pańska, Węglarska, Św. Ducha, Straganiarska, Targ Rybny, Grobla I - IV, Długie Ogrody, Szafarnia, Rajska, Wielkie Młyny, Podmłyńska, Podwale Staromiejskie (Targ Drzewny-Pańska section). Parking lots for residents
Parking on the street The Coal Market will be closed for the duration of the Fair, i.e. from July 15 to August 25, for the exclusive use of residents of the Main Town. Entry and parking will be based on a valid IGM ID, FGM sector parking subscription and MTG ID. There will also be designated parking spaces for hotel guests from the Main Town area.
For residents of ul. Długie Ogrody and the surrounding area, a parking lot will be similarly designated in the area of Brama Żuławska. Entry and parking will be possible using an MTG ID.
Coach parking lots
For the purposes of tourist traffic in the Śródmieście area, additional parking spaces for buses will be designated (over 30 spaces). Temporary parking lots will be located on the streets:

Park&Ride service
Between July 27 and August 18, drivers who want to go to the Saint's Fair. Dominika, they will be able to leave their car in the parking lot at Plac Zebrań Ludowych and get there by tram. The parking fee is PLN 15 (PLN 13 for Resident Card holders), then tram travel for a maximum of 5 people on the Brama Oliwska - Brama Wyżynna section is free.
Moving the boundaries of the Limited Accessibility Zone to ul. Podwale Staromiejskie and to ul. Podwale Przedmiejskie
As in previous years, this year the boundaries of the Limited Accessibility Zone (SOD) will be moved to ul. Podwale Staromiejskie. In order to limit the possibility of unauthorized vehicles entering the SOD, entry will only be possible through ul. Holy Spirit from the Wood Market side and through the Fish Market from the Podwale Staromiejski side. In addition, the holiday SOD will also cover the streets south of ul. Długa and Długi Targ to Podwale Przedmiejskie.
In addition to the existing streets, the expanded SOD will also include the following streets: Szeroka, Pańska, Węglarska, Świętojańska, Lawendowa, Straganiarska, Szklary, Słomiana, Grobla II, Grobla III, Grobla IV, Pachołów, Tobiasza, Tandeta, Różana, Szpitalna, U Furty, Targ Rybny, Warzywnicza, Tandeta, Tokarska, Minogi, Podmurze, Lanarniana, as well as ul. Sukiennicza on the section from ul. Dylinka to the Radunia Canal and Ławnicza, Słodników, Pocztowa, Za Murami and Pozaki streets. Additionally, in SOD they will be located on the streets: Sukiennicza and Na Piaskach.
We would like to remind you that throughout the entire Limited Accessibility Zone in the Main Town (both permanent and extended), regulations regarding movement in the residential zone apply. They assume priority for pedestrian traffic, maximum vehicle speed of 20 km/h and parking of all vehicles only in designated places.
In the Restricted Availability Zone you need an IGM ID
To drive a car within the limits of the extended and permanent SOD, it is necessary to have an IGM identifier. It is available to residents of real estate (both owners and tenants), as well as owners, tenants or tenants of commercial premises located in SOD.
– Due to the very large number of people collecting 24-hour ID cards, during the St. Dominika, i.e. from July 15, limits will be introduced in the issuance of these entry cards - says Agata Lewandowska, Municipal Traffic Engineer. – We want to limit the influx of people using cars who do not live in Śródmieście. During this period, there are no parking spaces available or freedom to move around.

Renovations in the city center
During the summer season, renovations will be carried out in the center of Gdańsk in the following locations: ul. Ogarno – subsequent stages of renovation and Tobiasz. Any other works carried out in this area will not affect traffic organization.
Ogarna
Work is currently underway on the section of ul. Ogarna, from ul. Słodników to ul. Pocztowa. This traffic organization should continue until the end of the holidays.
Długie Pobrzeże
During the holidays, the pedestrian crossing will be maintained.
Communication with residents
Due to difficulties that may occur during the St. Fair. Dominika, an additional function dedicated to this event will be launched in the Gdańsk Contact Center application. There will also be a special hotline of the Gdańsk Contact Center , through which residents will be informed about the course of the event, changes in traffic organization and will be able to submit their comments there. With tourists in mind, cooperation has been initiated with hotels and facilities providing hotel services located in SOD. As part of the cooperation, these facilities agreed to provide their guests with information about changes in traffic organization and parking difficulties in the very center of Śródmieście.
