Summer traffic organization in Śródmieście

As every year, temporary changes in traffic organization will be introduced in the center of Gdańsk. They will come into force on Monday, June 24 and last until Sunday, September 1. The first phase results from the summer traffic organization, the second, effective from July 15, is related to the St. Peter's Fair. Dominica. With minor differences, most of the changes will be analogous to previous years. Also this year, during the holidays, the limits of the Limited Accessibility Zone in the Main Town will be extended. To be able to drive vehicles there, you need an IGM ID or a FGM sector parking card.

– Holiday changes in traffic organization in the center of Gdańsk will be introduced in two stages. The first is the so-called holiday phase, which will start on June 24. There will be minor changes compared to previous years. On July 15, the installation of the infrastructure of the St. Fair will begin. Dominica. This will necessitate further changes in traffic organization, says Piotr Kryszewski, deputy president for municipal services.

Holiday phase

– Summer in Gdańsk is primarily a tourist season full of numerous events, including the largest, the St. Dominic's Fair. Just like every year, we are introducing changes to protect both tourists and our residents during this period - says Agata Lewandowska, Municipal Traffic Engineer. These changes are intended to enable safe functioning, especially for the first-time users. Therefore, as in previous years, we are expanding the restricted access zone.

It will last from June 24 to July 14. It will then continue after the St Dominic's Fair, from August 26 to September 1. Below we present details of changes in traffic organization that will apply during this period.

  • Extension of the Limited Accessibility Zone from ul. Szeroka to ul. Podwale Staromiejskie. The SOD will also include Słodników Streets (from ul. Bogusławskiego to Ogarna), Ławnicza, Pozaki, Pocztowa and Za Murami. The Limited Accessibility Zone will also cover ul. Sukiennicza (from ul. Dylinki)
  • The entire area of ​​the extended SOD will be included in the residential zone. Let us remind you of the rules: priority for pedestrians, vehicle speed limit to 20 km/h and parking only in designated places.
  • For holders of IMG ID cards (for SOD), entry to the Main Town area, from the Targ Drzewny side, only via św. Spirit,
  • It will be impossible to enter the street. Broad from the Wood Market,
  • Access to ul. Szeroka through the streets: św. Spirit-Lantern-Wide. On the street Szeroka, on the section from ul. Latarniana to Targ Drzewny (in relation to Targ Drzewny) will have one-way traffic.
  • Exit from ul. Szeroka to Targ Drzewny via ul. Wide
  • Reversal of the direction of the street. Szklary and ul. Lawendowa towards ul. Podwale Staromiejskie
  • Podwale Staromiejskie on the section from ul. Lawendowa to the end towards ul. Wałowa will be a one-way road in relation to Wałowa Street
  • Grodzka, ul. Wapiennicza and ul. Stara Stocznia to the entrance to the underground garage of the Brabank building will be one-way roads in relation to Wałowa Street
  • Right lanes of Podwale Staromiejskie streets and ul. Grodzka will be used for parking spaces within the Paid Parking Zone (SPP)
  • As in previous years, there will be no changes in traffic organization on ul. Stolarska, ul. Mniszki and ul. Igielnicka

Additionally, adjustments will be made to traffic lights in the following locations:

  • Piast knot;
  • Jana of Kolno – Łagiewniki;
  • Jana z Kolno – Nowomiejska – Gdyńskie Kosynierów;
  • Jana of Kolno – Robotnicza;
  • Jan of Kolno – Toolmakers;
  • Wałowa – Rybaki Górne;
  • Popiełuszki – Nowomiejska.

Phase of the St Dominic's Fair

– This year's St Dominic's Fair will be held from July 27 to August 18 for approximately 60,000 people. m2. It's a large space that we try to control as best as we can. Listening to the voices of the residents, it seems that year by year we are going in the right direction. Following the suggestions we receive during meetings with Gdańsk residents, just like last year, we will not find a fair on Długie and Rybackie Pobrzeże. This place is intended for walks and is ideal for admiring beautiful Gdańsk. In return, just like last year, the stalls will be located on ul. Podwale Staromiejskie and Grobla IV, where we created a new street - Artystyczne Podwale. There will be even more new products, but there will also be some well-known and popular accents. That's why I cordially invite you to the St. Fair. Dominika in Gdańsk - says Dorota Solochewicz, project manager of the St. Dominik's Fair. Dominica.

The first activities related to the installation of the infrastructure of the St. Fair. Dominika will be implemented on July 15 and will last until the start of the event, i.e. until July 27. From this day until August 18, the St. Fair will run. Dominica. Then, the dismantling of the Fair's infrastructure is scheduled to last until August 25.

– From Monday, July 15, we will start installing the fair infrastructure in the area of ​​ul. Szeroka – says Marcin Latuszek, director of the MTG operational department. – Next, Pańska, Podmłyńska, Rajska streets. However, on the other side of the Motława, works will start the following week, i.e. on Monday, July 22. The assembly works will last until July 25, we are introducing exhibitors on July 26, and the fair will start on July 27. We start our dismantling works immediately after the end of the Fair, which ends on August 18, and we plan to complete them by August 25 at the latest - assures Marcin Latuszek.

During the periods when the fair infrastructure is being assembled and dismantled, there may be temporary disruptions and subsequent closures of streets or their sections. For the purposes of the Fair, the following streets of the Old Town, the Main Town and the area of ​​ul. will be closed. Długie Ogrody: Szeroka, Tkacka, Kołodziejska, Pańska, Węglarska, Św. Ducha, Straganiarska, Targ Rybny, Grobla I - IV, Długie Ogrody, Szafarnia, Rajska, Wielkie Młyny, Podmłyńska, Podwale Staromiejskie (Targ Drzewny-Pańska section). Closures may apply to entire streets or only their fragments.

Description of changes in traffic organization

Old Town

  • Street closed to traffic. Rajska – section from ul. Podwale Staromiejskie to ul. Heweliusza and ul. Wielkie Młyny and ul. Podmłyńska
  • On a two-way street. There will be no additional parking spaces on the road on Korzenna Street to ensure efficient vehicle traffic and access for emergency services
  • Na Piaskach and Katarzynki streets at the intersections with ul. Rajska become streets without crossing the so-called blind. Additionally, ul. Na Piaski from ul. Kowalska to ul. Wielkie Młyny will be covered by SOD
  • To ensure pedestrian safety, a section of the street will be closed to traffic. Podwale Staromiejskie from ul. Targ Drzewny to ul. Lord's. The detour will follow the following streets: Kowalska, Korzenna, Heweliusza to Rajska or further to Łagiewniki and Wałowa streets. On a closed section of ul. Parking spaces for people with disabilities will be designated in Podwale Staromiejskie
  • Podwale Staromiejskie on the section from ul. Lawendowa to the end towards ul. Wałowa will be a one-way road in relation to Wałowa Street
  • Grodzka and ul. Stara Stocznia to the entrance to the underground garage of the Brabank building will be one-way roads in relation to Wałowa Street
  • The right lane of Podwale Staromiejskie street will be designated for parking spaces within the Paid Parking Zone (SPP)
  • The changes will also appear on ul. Stolarska, which is from ul. Refektorarska and Mniszki will be a one-way street towards ul. Podwale Staromiejskie. One-way traffic in this route will also be maintained on ul. Igielnicka.

Main city

  • Entry to the Main Town area only for holders of IMG ID cards (for SOD) and FGM sector parking cards will be possible from the Targ Drzewny side, only through św. Spirit
  • Entrance to the street It's impossible to be wide from Targ Drzewny
  • Access to ul. Szeroka through the streets of św. Spirit-Lantern-Wide
  • Exit from ul. Szeroka to Targ Drzewny via ul. Wide
  • Due to renovation works on the entire section of ul. Długie Pobrzeże and Rybackie Pobrzeże may experience local disruptions to pedestrian traffic
  • Reversal of the direction of the street. Szklary and ul. Lawendowa towards ul. Podwale Staromiejskie
  • Due to the closed section of ul. Tobiasza has two-way traffic on the entire section of ul. Świętojańska
  • Entry to the streets covered by the Fair for residents with an IGM ID (for SOD) and FGM sector parking cards from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 a.m./10:00 a.m.
  • Due to possible large streams of pedestrians, especially in the vicinity of the Fish Market and Świętopełka Square, temporary extensions of the entrance closure time for residents are possible - please follow the security instructions
  • As in previous years, there is a street loop at ul. Saint Ducha-Złotników-Szklary-Podwale Staromiejskie
  • Entrance to the Fish Market from ul. closed to traffic. Podwale Staromiejskie
  • On a closed section of ul. Parking spaces for people with disabilities will be designated in Podwale Staromiejskie

Długie Ogrody

  • Szafarnia from the entrance to the underground parking lot of the Waterlane building to the intersection with ul. Długie Ogrody will be closed to vehicular traffic
  • Długie Ogrody on the section from the intersection with ul. Długa Grobla to the intersection with ul. Łąkowa will be a one-way road in relation to ul. Łąkowa.
  • Długie Ogrody in the section from Łąkowa to ul. Szopy will be a two-way street
  • No possibility to leave the street. Sheds on the street Długie Ogrody.
  • Krowoderska Streets, Św. Barbara and Seredyńskiego will be roads without passage (no entry from the above-mentioned streets to Długie Ogrody Street).
  • On the street Łąkowa remains two-way traffic without restrictions

Parking lots for residents

Parking on the street The Coal Market will be closed for the duration of the Fair, i.e. from July 15 to August 25, for the exclusive use of residents of the Main Town. Entry and parking will be based on a valid IGM ID, FGM sector parking subscription and MTG ID. There will also be designated parking spaces for hotel guests from the Main Town area.

For residents of ul. Długie Ogrody and the surrounding area, a parking lot will be similarly designated in the area of ​​Brama Żuławska. Entry and parking will be possible using an MTG ID.

Coach parking lots

For the purposes of tourist traffic in the Śródmieście area, additional parking spaces for buses will be designated (over 30 spaces). Temporary parking lots will be located on the streets:

  • deep (from ul. Mostek to ul. Wygon)
  • 3 Maja (parking bay at the bus station)
  • Wiesław
  • Siennicka from the intersection with ul. Elbląska to ul. Powalna
  • Okopowa (near the large parking lot)
  • Podwale Przedmiejskie (at the intersection with ul. Sadowa)
  • Targ Drzewny between the streets of Św. Ducha and Szeroka (up to 10 min)

The above locations are seasonal coach parking lots that will operate from July 1 to August 31. The year-round ones are posted on the website at: https://gzdiz.gda.pl/parkingi

Park&Ride service

Between July 27 and August 18, drivers who want to go to the Saint's Fair. Dominika, they will be able to leave their car in the parking lot at Plac Zebrań Ludowych and get there by tram. The parking fee is PLN 15 (PLN 13 for Resident Card holders), then tram travel for a maximum of 5 people on the Brama Oliwska - Brama Wyżynna section is free.

 

Moving the boundaries of the Limited Accessibility Zone to ul. Podwale Staromiejskie and to ul. Podwale Przedmiejskie

As in previous years, this year the boundaries of the Limited Accessibility Zone (SOD) will be moved to ul. Podwale Staromiejskie. In order to limit the possibility of unauthorized vehicles entering the SOD, entry will only be possible through ul. Holy Spirit from the Wood Market side and through the Fish Market from the Podwale Staromiejski side. In addition, the holiday SOD will also cover the streets south of ul. Długa and Długi Targ to Podwale Przedmiejskie.

In addition to the existing streets, the expanded SOD will also include the following streets: Szeroka, Pańska, Węglarska, Świętojańska, Lawendowa, Straganiarska, Szklary, Słomiana, Grobla II, Grobla III, Grobla IV, Pachołów, Tobiasza, Tandeta, Różana, Szpitalna, U Furty, Targ Rybny, Warzywnicza, Tandeta, Tokarska, Minogi, Podmurze, Lanarniana, as well as ul. Sukiennicza on the section from ul. Dylinka to the Radunia Canal and Ławnicza, Słodników, Pocztowa, Za Murami and Pozaki streets. Additionally, in SOD they will be located on the streets: Sukiennicza and Na Piaskach.

We would like to remind you that throughout the entire Limited Accessibility Zone in the Main Town (both permanent and extended), regulations regarding movement in the residential zone apply. They assume priority for pedestrian traffic, maximum vehicle speed of 20 km/h and parking of all vehicles only in designated places.

In the Restricted Availability Zone you need an IGM ID

To drive a car within the limits of the extended and permanent SOD, it is necessary to have an IGM identifier. It is available to residents of real estate (both owners and tenants), as well as owners, tenants or tenants of commercial premises located in SOD.

– Due to the very large number of people collecting 24-hour ID cards, during the St. Dominika, i.e. from July 15, limits will be introduced in the issuance of these entry cards - says Agata Lewandowska, Municipal Traffic Engineer. – We want to limit the influx of people using cars who do not live in Śródmieście. During this period, there are no parking spaces available or freedom to move around.

Eligible persons are invited to obtain free IGM IDs at:

  • GZDiZ Service Point at ul. Wodoboj 7 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 16:30.
  • GZDiZ Customer Service Office at ul. Partyzańskiego 36 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 16:30.

IDs for the extended Limited Availability Zone will be issued for the period from June 24 to September 1.

They will not need an additional identifier:

  • persons with a valid IGM ID in the permanent SOD area.
  • holders of a current Resident Flat Fee Card or a Business Flat Fee Card in the FGM sector.

Renovations in the city center

During the summer season, renovations will be carried out in the center of Gdańsk in the following locations: ul. Ogarno – subsequent stages of renovation and Tobiasz. Any other works carried out in this area will not affect traffic organization.

Ogarna

Work is currently underway on the section of ul. Ogarna, from ul. Słodników to ul. Pocztowa. This traffic organization should continue until the end of the holidays.

Długie Pobrzeże

During the holidays, the pedestrian crossing will be maintained.

Communication with residents

Due to difficulties that may occur during the St. Fair. Dominika, an additional function dedicated to this event will be launched in the Gdańsk Contact Center application. There will also be a special hotline of the Gdańsk Contact Center , through which residents will be informed about the course of the event, changes in traffic organization and will be able to submit their comments there. With tourists in mind, cooperation has been initiated with hotels and facilities providing hotel services located in SOD. As part of the cooperation, these facilities agreed to provide their guests with information about changes in traffic organization and parking difficulties in the very center of Śródmieście.
