Stop at St Dominic's Fair . Festival Of Wonders starts in a week

St Dominic's Fair 2024 will charm the festival atmosphere, trade zones and gastronomy, it will be woven into the elements of surprise, educational and cultural values, as well as various events, during which everyone will find something interesting. Festival Of Wonders will start in Gdańsk on July 27 and will last until August 18. There will be 613 merchants on the streets of the Old Town, there will be new products.

St Dominic's Fair is taking shape that from next Saturday one of the largest and coolest outdoor events in Europe could again enjoy the inhabitants of Gdańsk and tourists.

St Dominic's Fair is of course a centuries -old tradition of indulgence fairs. However, we in Gdańsk, seeing what is happening in the modern world, we try to adapt it so that it is attractive to the inhabitants of our city and numerous guests from Poland and the world. Last year's St Dominic's Fair was visited by over a million people. This is a great result! - says Aleksandra Dulkiewicz , president of Gdańsk.

St Dominic's Fair is over 700 stands and over 600 exhibitors. Almost 1/4 of them are entrepreneurs from Gdańsk who will be able to work their daily work, what they can do best, offer visitors. The fair is therefore an economic event. It is an element that stimulates our Gdańsk, Pomeranian and Polish economic life. However, this is not only a trade festival, but also a social event. For many years, as part of such events as the Equality Przystanek, such as the children's zone, or various other places where you can get to know our Gdańsk culture or economy, we are also trying to talk about important social matters. All this is created in partnership with our advice, even with the Youth City Council or with the Gdańsk Senior Council - adds President Dulkiewicz.

Among 613 exhibitors who will take 760 stands, 210 traders from Pomerania will appear, including 130 from Gdańsk. There will be guests from other regions of Poland and from abroad, including from: Lithuania, Ukraine, Great Britain, Hungary, France, the United States and Italy. From the first day, St Dominic's Fair will operate the city and regions zone on the Świętopełka square. It is a space in which regions and cities will present themselves, inviting tourists and the inhabitants of Pomerania to visit them. The hosts of the zone will be, among others: Pomeranian, Lublin, Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodships or the Żuławy and Cyprus Association.

The tradition of regional self -government is promoting our brand during St Dominic's Fair - Pomorska Street. I cordially invite you to get acquainted with the craftsmanship of our craftsmen and taste delicious products. I especially encourage and urge you to visit the stands of social economy entities that combine craftsmanship with social sensitivity. I invite you today on August 2 to the Pomeranian holiday of social economy entities - said Leszek Bonna , deputy marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

I hope that the Pomeranian Development Agency begins a new tradition and we will try to be present at St Dominic's Fair every year. However, with a slightly different message: through our most colorful brand Live More Pomerania, we will try to say about what we as Gdańsk and the inhabitants of Pomerania, we know perfectly well that here is phenomenally alive and is phenomenally working and phenomenally rests. We will encourage those who will come into this space, that maybe they make such a crazy decision and think that it is worth living here. Because there is plenty of work here, and I do not have to speak quality of life - says Piotr Ciechowicz , vice president of the Pomeranian Development Agency.

The fair is not only shopping and catering zones. It is also a rich festival daily program. It is inextricably linked with fair stops, which will constitute zones where visitors can combine business with pleasure.

We try to provide new, interesting sensations and attractions with each edition. What is important and we are proud of it is culture. We focus on its level. This does not mean that there are to be great, loud concerts, because we do not want nuisance to Gdańsk residents, but on the other hand we want to touch the real culture. We also want St Dominic's Fair to be a festival, that we would all be dealing with miracles here that always accompanied the Fair historically, but also that we all have the joy and pleasure of being in these beautiful, wonderful places of downtown - said Andrzej Bojanowski , president of the International Gdańsk Fair.

Fair stops will be integrated into the urban space to constitute a kind of haven between shopping and catering zones. Themed zones will attract not only those seeking relaxation, but also those looking for interesting activities and cultural events.

St Dominic's Fair is an event that connects Gdańsk residents, Pomeranian with tourists. It is our promotional anchor that allows us to appear on the tourist map of Europe and the world. A million people who visited Gdańsk last summer are a mix of local community and tourists. Thanks to the fair, we get to know each other. We show what is local, Pomeranian, Gdańsk and thanks to this we build authenticity. We can go to the world, showing Gdańsk as a place where not only lives well, but also spending time well and you can try a great kitchen - believes Łukasz Wysocki , president of the Gdańsk Tourist Organization.

Debut of the Retro stop

Each subsequent edition of St Dominic's Fair brings equally great interest in the collectors' zone. Antiques or items with "soul" are a magnet not only on those who want to buy unique things. The popularity of the zone meant that this year it will gain a new part. It will be a retro stop, where professional auctions of valuable items will be carried out. The "from the collector's life" series is also planned. It contains interviews with the stars of the "Treasure Hunter" program. It is also worth paying attention to the "young collector's guide", thanks to which we will learn, among others, how to distinguish a valuable prey from the sell and how to care for your treasures through renovation and maintenance.
