The St. Dominic's Fair is getting closer: HERE EVERYONE HAS THEIR STORY

Preparations are underway for the 766th St. Dominic's Fair – one of the oldest and largest outdoor events in Europe. This year's slogan, „Everyone has their own story here,” emphasizes the character of the event, which for years has been co-created by exhibitors, residents, and visitors.

From 25 July to 16 August 2026, Gdańsk will once again become a vibrant space for meetings, flavours, music, and urban discoveries. New stall locations, an extensive programme of attractions, and culinary experiences await participants, all creating the unique atmosphere of the Gdańsk Festival of Wonders.

The St. Dominic's Fair image campaign goes hand-in-hand with a refreshed visual identity for the event. The organisers have opted for a contemporary aesthetic inspired by the fair's centuries-old tradition, highlighting its openness, energy, and diversity. This iteration wouldn't be complete without the iconic cockerel – a symbol that has been an inseparable element of the fair's identity for years.

The approach to market merchandise is also changing. This year's t-shirts have been designed so that everyone can find their own story in them. On the back, there will be an original, personalised form expanding on the event's slogan, allowing participants to identify even more strongly with the atmosphere of the Fair. Gadgets are becoming more than just souvenirs – personal carriers of memories, emotions and experiences related to summer in Gdańsk. Fair gadgets and souvenirs will be available at the "Memory House" [Domku Wspomnień], which will be located right next to the Golden Gate.

Jarmark on the National Heritage List?

The slogan „Everyone has their own story here” also corresponds with efforts to nominate selected traditions of the St. Dominic's Fair for the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This is a joint, grassroots initiative by the Kashubian Institute in Gdańsk, the Museum of Gdańsk, and the Pomeranian Chamber of Crafts for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. At the heart of these efforts are people and the relationships built over the years, because for decades the Fair has been shaped not only by stalls and events, but above all by the stories of artisans, residents, and regular visitors who return here each year for their part of this narrative.

A rich programme of events

Work is also underway on the programme for this year's St Dominic's Fair. For three summer weeks, the centre of Gdańsk will once again be filled with artistic events, family attractions, and cultural and educational initiatives. The programme has been designed as a map of urban experiences – full of encounters, emotions, and moments that everyone experiences in their own way. It is these that create a festival of wonders that happens here and now – and each time is recorded differently in the memory of participants. It is culture that comes out onto the city streets and allows everyone to add their own fragment to the story.

New location for the Collectors' Zone

One of the more important organisational changes will be the new location of the Collectors' Zone. This year, due to the new traffic management around the centre of Gdańsk, exhibitors dealing with antiques, numismatics, old curiosities and collector's items will move from Długie Ogrody to Targ Węglowy.

More parking spaces for residents

Parking availability for residents of Śródmieście will also increase. Dedicated parking spaces for SOD permit holders will be designated at Rycerska Street, Lawendowa Street, as well as along Podwale Staromiejskie and the NOT car park. The Park & Ride car park at Plac Zebrań Ludowych will operate on the same terms as last year.

The St. Dominic's Fair will take place in Gdańsk from 25 July to 16 August 2026.
