St Dominic's Fair is not only three years of weeks of a cultural and cenite festival. The organizers of the Fair, together with the Śródmieście manager, began activities for the residents who are the neighbors of the event. The first step was to replace some benches on the Hevelius square.
The tradition of the preparation period for St Dominic's Fair are meetings with the inhabitants of Śródmieście, during which the schedule of activities related to the event and its exact description and assumptions are presented. People who are adjacent to the fair and experience him on a daily basis, they also share their insights and comments. During the last meeting in 2023, the organizers of the Fair - the International Gdańsk Fair - after consulting with the manager of Śródmieście Monika NCOMe Evini and residents, proposed and then approved the action for the event's neighbors.
Its premiere was the replacement of some of the benches at Hevelius Square - this is one of the places used by the fair and it is worth refreshing it before the new summer season.
According to the assumptions in March 2024, MTG began to replace the benches in the indicated place. In the central part of the square, 14 of them appeared at the Hevelius monument - in place of destroyed/used. The bench model was indicated and accepted by the Gdańsk Road and Greenery Authority. On the benches you can find a characteristic St Dominic's Fair logotype.
The organizers want to continue the campaign in the coming years. Currently, work is underway on a multi-year plan specifying MTG's activities for Śródmieście and its residents.
This year's St Dominic's Fair will take place from July 27 - August 18.
