The coming days of Jarmark św. Dominika will bring a wide variety of events to the daily programme – from the Fair's Grand Prix, through the Pomeranian Social Economy Festival and Volunteering Day, to the Football Film Festival. These events are the perfect complement to the trading and food zones.
1 and 2 August at Jarmark św. Dominika will be dedicated to the Grand Prix competition. This year, for the first time, a new category for food-service exhibitors joins the two traditional categories for craftspeople and artisans, and for makers of food delicacies.
Grand Prix awards have been presented at Jarmark św. Dominika since 2001. It is a prestigious competition open to all exhibitors, aimed at consistently raising the quality of the offerings on display and promoting the best exhibitors. Winners receive statuettes and vouchers towards a stall at next year's event. On Thursday, the jury will personally inspect the Fair's stalls and select winners in two categories: Dobry Pomysł (Good Idea) – for the best craftspeople and artisans, and Dobry Smakołyk (Tasty Treat) – for exhibitors offering food products.
This year, the category Dobry Smak (Good Taste) has been refreshed, allowing food-service exhibitors to be recognised. The competition will take place as part of a culinary contest on Friday at 14:00 at the Flavours Stop, on Skwer Świętopełka. Exhibitors will prepare their dishes over two elimination rounds, judged by, among others, leading authorities in the world of gastronomy: Andrzej Polan and Sebastian Cichy. At 17:00, on Skwer Świętopełka, the winners of the Grand Prix 2024 will be announced during the award ceremony.
LIVE MORE. POMERANIA
On Thursday and Friday, visitors can drop by the Live more. Pomerania stand at the Equality Stop. This is an initiative coordinated by Invest in Pomerania, aimed at highlighting the strengths of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in other regions and abroad by promoting its opportunities for work, study and life.
The project presents the offer of the Pomeranian labour market in key, developing sectors. It builds bridges between business and science, works towards improving professional qualifications and building dream career paths.
They also conduct activities for the migrant community, supporting their relocation and integration process through education and the organisation of a series of meetings for them.

POMERANIAN SOCIAL ECONOMY FESTIVAL
Also on Friday, for the second time during Jarmark św. Dominika, Skwer Heweliusza will host the largest social economy sector event in Pomerania. The aim of the Pomeranian Social Economy Festival is to promote social economy in the broadest sense, which, put simply, means running economic activities that combine economic goals (earning money) with social ones (helping prevent exclusion). The event offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about various organisations from the sector, get to know their work, and support them directly.
KOCIEWIE PARADE
On the same day, you can join the procession of Kociewie residents, who will invite everyone to join in the fun with song and dance. This is a unique element of both the Kociewie Festival and Jarmark św. Dominika. Kociewie music and street dancing in colourful traditional costumes will bring the region of Kociewie closer to Gdańsk residents through its cultural offerings. Parade route: Green Gate – Długi Targ – ul. Długa – ul. Tkacka – ul. Św. Ducha – Targ Drzewny – ul. Kowalska – ul. Korzenna – Plac Heweliusza. Following the parade, there will be a Kociewie ART vernissage – at 18:00 (Old Town Hall, ul. Korzenna 33/35) and a Kociewie Jazz Evening at 19:30.
- BIRTHDAY OF THE FR E. DUTKIEWICZ GDAŃSK HOME HOSPICE FOR CHILDREN
On Saturday, as part of the first day of Volunteering Day, the anniversary of the Home Hospice for Children will be celebrated. That day, on the main stage at the Equality Stop, Pomeranian musicians who make up the band 5/6 will perform. Also appearing will be: the outstanding artist Przemysław Radziszewski and musicians from Cappella Gedanensis.
In the tents around the stage, the youngest visitors can look forward to a range of activities, as well as a charity haircut event organised by Rzemieślnik Barber Shop. Since the main organiser of the birthday celebration is the Hospice Foundation, visitors will be invited to medical information tents, where hosts and guests will share the history of Gdańsk's oldest home hospice for children. A birthday cake can also be expected.
- ST DOMINIC'S RUN ON SATURDAY
Since 1994, the International St Dominic's Run has been an integral part of Jarmark św. Dominika. It's a hit of the sporting summer on the coast, regarded in its class as the most attractive running-and-promotional event in Poland for both participants and partners. QUIET GLADE OF FLAVOURS
Saturday will also bring the culinary event Cicha Polana Smaków (Quiet Glade of Flavours) – a live cooking show with tastings that will double as a charity event. Experienced chefs – Andrzej Polan i Sebastian Cichy – will host a spectacular culinary show, sharing their skills and kitchen secrets. The event will begin at 14:00 on Skwer Świętopełka.

For Sunday, also as part of Volunteering Day, Caritas of the Archdiocese of Gdańsk has prepared numerous attractions, activities and meetings with special guests running throughout the day. Skwer Heweliusza will also host concerts and sporting contests, including Freestyle Football, a performance by Felipe Alvarado, and concerts by zGODa and Edzio Rap.
BAJKOWISKO WITH HELIOS: THE KNIGHT WITHOUT A HORSE
This unique format, shaping artistic sensitivity through a family way of spending summer holiday time in a world of fun, laughter, adventure and theatre, features in Monday's programme at the AmberSky Adventure Stop. At 14:00, Hyde Park begins, where children can showcase their singing, dancing, public-speaking, dexterity and many other skills. For the following hour and a half, there will be themed workshops, competitions, games, songs and dances. Bajkowisko with Helios will conclude with a theatrical performance starting at 16:00 – "The Knight Without a Horse" performed by Teatr Barnaby.
FOOTBALL FILM FESTIVAL
- edition of the Football Film Festival – a competitive showcase of the best national achievements in football-themed documentary filmmaking – will feature at Jarmark św. Dominika for the first time, enriching its cultural offer. Competition screenings are scheduled on the big screen from 5 to 10 August. Films will be shown from 18:00.
HOW TO TELL A TREASURE FROM A DUD?
Arkadiusz Woźniak, Joanna Lewandowska i Łukasz Barucha – antique experts and enthusiasts – will give presentations on the restoration and valuation of old objects. The experts will show how to professionally restore the shine of antiques. Attendees will learn which techniques and materials work best, as well as how to avoid the most common mistakes that can damage valuable items. The second topic will be the art of recognising genuine treasures among antiques. The speakers will share their knowledge on assessing authenticity and historical and artistic value, and explain what to look out for so as not to be fooled by appearances.
