On the 1st and 2nd of August, the St. Dominic's Fair will be dominated by the Grand Prix competition. This year, for the first time, in addition to the two traditional categories for artisans and craftspeople, and producers of food delicacies, there will be a new category for catering exhibitors. The award ceremony will take place on Friday, at the Świętopełka Square at 5 p.m.
Grand Prix awards have been presented during the St. Dominic's Fair since 2001. It is a prestigious competition for all exhibitors, aimed at consistently improving the quality of the presented offers and promoting the best exhibitors. Winners receive statuettes and vouchers for purchasing a stand at next year's event. This coming Thursday, the competition jury will personally inspect the fair stalls and select winners in two categories: Good Idea – for the best craftsmen and artisans, and Good Treat – for exhibitors with food offerings.
This year, a new category has been established – Good Taste, which will specifically recognise and reward catering exhibitors. The competition will take place within the framework of a culinary contest. Exhibitors will prepare live the „best dish” of the St. Dominic's Fair. The culinary contest will be held for the first time in the history of the Fair, on Friday at 2 p.m., at Przystanek Smaków (Taste Stop), on Świętopełka Square. Exhibitors will prepare their dishes in two elimination rounds. They will be judged by authorities in the culinary world: Andrzej Polan and Sebastian Cichy. The competition jury will also include: Piotr Dzik and Paweł Orłowski. At 5 p.m., on Świętopełka Square, the final winners of GRAND PRIX 2024 will be announced.
