TASTES, COLOURS AND MUSIC – THE LAST WEEK OF ST. DOMINIC'S FAIR!

🔗👉 PRESS RELEASE

Gdańsk is still pulsing with the rhythm of one of the largest outdoor events
in Europe, but it's time to slowly count down the final days of this year's St. Dominic's Fair. The city streets and nooks are still filled with scents, flavours, and music – over 740 stalls await visitors, as does a culinary journey through 18 world cuisines. The programme for the final week includes, among others, magical Chopin concerts, the action-packed Football Film Festival, and an energetic performance by the band Chrust.

What else is happening?

Until August 17th, visitors can enjoy the full range of numerous fairground attractions, located at unique stops and themed streets, guaranteeing unforgettable experiences for families, culture lovers, and tradition enthusiasts.

Lead (or lead song): music flowing: Chopin concerts

Market afternoons on Ołowianka are filled with various musical genres.

The final act of Jazz on the Island will take place on Wednesday. This time, at 7 p.m., the stage will be illuminated by Hania Derej Quintet – a band led by the pianist and composer, recognised by the prestigious Jazz Forum as the „New Hope”. Their original debut album „Evacuation”, full of funk rhythms and jazz finesse, is gaining acclaim not only in Poland but also abroad. Alongside them will perform the Warsaw band Niechęć, masters of atmospheric improvisations combining jazz, post-rock and electronics, whose music carries emotional depth and speaks of human longings and contradictions.

Twice, unusually, as not in the Polish Baltic Philharmonic, but in its vicinity, the sounds of a piano were heard, which floated over Ołowianka and Motława, creating an unforgettable, magical atmosphere. Ahead of us is the third concert in the „Ołowianka Flowing with Classics” series, which will take place on August 17th at 1:00 PM. This is a unique summer proposition – in the outdoor setting of Przystanek Port Gdańsk Pod Żaglami, the music of Fryderyk Chopin resounds, inviting you to a moment of respite and immersion in the beauty of romantic compositions. The mazurkas, nocturnes, preludes and polonaises are performed by outstanding pianists – both young talents and experienced artists.

FOOTBALL FILM FESTIVAL

On Sunday, the fourth edition of a unique review of football documentaries kicked off on Ołowianka, enriching the cultural offerings of the St. Dominic's Fair for the second time. The festival runs until August 16th, with Przystanek Port Gdańsk Pod Żaglami serving as its outdoor venue. Over the course of a week, we will see 11 carefully selected films competing for the prestigious „Andrzej Trojanowski Golden Eleven” award. The screen will feature both moving stories about football legends – such as Kazimierz Deyna – and tales of contemporary football heroes. There will also be films revealing the behind-the-scenes lives of teams, profiles of outstanding players, and referees. The festival is accompanied by special events: Football Summer Cinema and a meeting with the esteemed commentator Mateusz Święcicki. Admission to all screenings and events is free – it's the perfect opportunity to combine a passion for sport and cinema in the unique atmosphere of the heart of Gdańsk.

Energy Day with ENERGA OBRÓT

On August 14, 2025, at Przystanek Smaków, children aged 5–12 will dive into the fascinating world of electricity, discovering the secrets of light bulbs and learning about the safe use of current – all through energetic experiments, creative games, and interactive challenges. But this is not just an event for the little ones – adults will also be able to feel the joy of discovery and learning through play. The entire event will take place as part of a special celebration, Energy Worker Day!

MUSICAL FORGE OF TALENTS: FINAL CONCERT OF THE BAND CHRUST

The "Jarmarkowa Kuźnia Talentów" (Fairground Forge of Talents) final will take place on 16th August 2025 at 5:00 PM, also at Przystanek Port Gdańsk Pod Żaglami on Ołowianka, where the winners of the vocal competition, who delighted the audience and jury with their voices, will be announced. After the exciting final, a special guest will take the stage – the band Chrust, who will crown this unique musical event with their energetic and passionate concert, warming the hearts of the viewers and creating an unforgettable atmosphere at St. Dominic's Fair.

See you in the heart of Gdańsk!

The preparation of St. Dominic's Fair is a true symphony of cooperation, which would not be possible without our partner – Energa from the Orlen Group. It is thanks to their support that modern photovoltaic panels have been installed on the exhibitors' containers at the "Przystanek Port Gdańsk Pod Żaglami" event, powering the festival's heart – creating a true festival of wonders driven by the power of nature and innovation. The energy from the panels symbolises our shared concern for the environment and sustainable development.
