Look into the vestibule of the Abbots of Pelplin House
Location:
ul. Bielańska 5, 80-851 Gdańsk (Old Town)
We invite you to visit the historic vestibule of the Pelplin Abbey House – a townhouse built in 1612. This is a unique opportunity, as the building is usually inaccessible to tourists.
In the hall, you can see a richly decorated 17th-century staircase, which was saved from wartime destruction by being dismantled and restored to its place in 1973. Its main feature is a bas-relief illustrating the Old Testament parable of Susanna, unjustly accused of adultery by elders who desired her.
A guide will talk about the history of the building and the symbolism of the bas-relief. The vestibule will be open to visitors every Tuesday during the St. Dominic's Fair (28 July, 4 and 11 August) from 12:00 – 16:00.
The organiser of the St. Dominic's Fair is Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie S.A., the owner of AMBEREXPO – one of the most modern exhibition and congress facilities in Poland. We specialise in organising events of local, national, and international scope: trade fairs, exhibitions, congresses, conferences, events, fairs, and outdoor events.
