The Kociewie Festival is one of the initiatives promoting the culture of one of Pomerania's most important sub-regions during the St. Dominic's Fair. It is a combination of several events involving over a thousand participants. Local governments (Starogard, Tczew and Świecie counties, and the towns and communes of Kociewie) and regional institutions (the KOCIEWIE Local Tourist Organisation, Fabryka Sztuk in Tczew, Starogardzkie Centrum Kultury, the Chata Kociewia and Wstęga Kociewia Local Action Groups, and social organisations) get involved in its organisation every year.
Year on year, the event is becoming more popular among the residents of Pomerania, who are keen to learn about Kociewian culture. This is also an excellent opportunity to showcase various aspects of Kociewian culture outside the region. As a result, tourists visiting the St. Dominic's Fair at this time can also learn about the existence of the Kociewie region and the ethnographic group that are the Kociewiacy.
