The fifth edition of the Jazz na Wyspie concert series will take place in the summer of 2026 on the picturesque island of Ołowianka in Gdańsk. The event, organised by Nowe idzie od morza and AMBEREXPO, continues the tradition of presenting the most interesting representatives of the young Polish jazz scene.
Jazz na Wyspie is a space for dialogue between tradition and modernity, improvisation and composition, acoustics and electronics. The festival is part of the broader context of the development of the young Polish jazz scene, which is gaining increasing recognition both at home and abroad.
The young Polish jazz scene today is characterised by incredible diversity and an openness to experimentation. Artists skilfully blend traditional jazz forms with influences from electronic music, avant-garde, or film music, creating unique sounds that are gaining critical and public acclaim. This creative energy makes Poland one of the more important centres of modern jazz in Europe.
Crucially, young jazz musicians often operate at the intersection of different genres and cultures, which results in fresh projects and unusual collaborations. Their work is full of passion and authenticity, while also being mindful of their musical heritage. This ensures that Polish jazz remains dynamic, continuously attracting new listeners and setting new trends on the global stage.
