Curator's tours „Generosity of Forms: Alfons Łosowski”

We invite you to curatorial tours of the exhibition „Generosity of Form: Alfons Łosowski,” led by its curators – Marta Szaszkiewicz-Sawa and Dr. Katarzyna Banucha. This is a unique opportunity to see the entire exhibition in its entirety – including areas not usually accessible to visitors!
One of the rooms included in the exhibition is located in the historic part of the complex – it is normally closed and only accessible during guided tours. The meetings will therefore be an ideal opportunity to see the entire exhibition, with commentary from its curators.

„Generosity of Forms: Alfons Łosowski” – Financed by the City of Gdańsk
Alexander Łosowski – sand artists whose presence is so deeply woven into the fabric of the city that, with time, it ceases to be noticed. Alfons Łosowski is one such figure. In post-war Gdańsk, rebuilt almost from scratch, he co-created its visual language: as a restorer, he dedicatedly recreated architectural details, while Łosowski's original sculptures, adorning Gdańsk's squares, plazas, and parks, among other locations, seem to have „always” belonged to the urban landscape.
The exhibition recalls the figure of an artist who significantly influenced the city's appearance, yet remains little known to the wider public. The presented granite and wooden sculptures, photographs, and work tools allow us to view his output not only through the lens of Gdańsk's reconstruction, but above all, through his original artistic activity.
