Paolo Bougeat - was born in the Italian city of Aosta in 1963. He attended the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Torino, where he received three diplomas - from organs, organ compositions and harpsichord. He participated in many master courses regarding the Middle Ages, romanticism, as well as the French organ repertoire. He began his artistic activity in 1981 and so far he has played over 500 concerts in Italy, in many European countries and the USA. He is also a very active composer (winner of many awards at international competitions), who in his work especially devotes the place to organ compositions. His works are published by Ediziono Carrara of Bergamo.
He is an active organist, harpsichordist and teacher - he teaches organs and organ compositions at the "Higher Institute of Musical Studies of the Aosta Valley". In 2016 and 2017 he was a teacher during the "Early Music School" championship courses in Magnano. He combines musical and didactic activity with research activities in the field of musicology. Paolo Bougeat is the author of two books "Organ in the cathedral in Aosta 1902-2002" and "Organ in the Aosta Valley" with the most interesting regional instruments. He is interested in new contexts of organ art and theories about the construction and typology of contemporary pipe organs. He supervised the projects of new organs (especially from the sound side) in Arnad and Courmayeur, as well as the newly created instrument in Saint-Vincent completed in 2017.
