Chrust is a Polish musical group playing modern ethnic music. Three completely different personalities representing their beloved musical styles (folk, electro, rock) combine to give the band a unique, contemporary sound. The group's work is based on traditional Polish and Slavic music, inspired by bands and artists such as Percival Schuttenbach, Wardruna, Trent Reznor, Tool, and Igor Herbut.
Chrust was formed in Gdańsk in 2021, the same year their first single, „Hen za Rzeką”, was released, promoting the group's activities. A year later, in May 2022, their first, entirely original album „Chrust” was released. Despite the band's short history, the artists have a wealth of concerts, competition wins, festivals, and accolades to their name.
,With our music, we want to show our audience that nothing they experience is alien to us. We want to show them that we also often go through similar things, which may perhaps cause them to treat our work as a friend, therapy, or solace.”
This year they participated in the Polish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, coming 4th in the public vote. Not long after, they appeared on the show Must Be The Music, receiving 4 x YES from the judges. The previous year, they played at unique events such as Męskie Granie 2024, Great September 2024, Slot Art Festival 2024, Sea You Music Showcase 2024, and the Grzegorz Ciechowski Song Contest in Tczew 2024.
They have recently released their second album “Przed Zmierzchem” (Before Twilight), which is a collection of their experiences and imaginings from almost three years.
