Stefan Baier – born in Passau in 1967. During his school years, he took organ lessons from professors Toni Glar and Wolfgang Zerer. He then studied church music, as well as organ and harpsichord in Regensburg, Munich, and Vienna under masters such as Karl Friedrich Wagner, Michael Radulescu, and Gordon Murray. Since 2003, he has taught organ as a professor at the Catholic University of Church Music and Music Pedagogy in Regensburg. Since 2011, he has also served as the Rector of the same university. Furthermore, he conducts courses on organ and early music. The artist has also given guest lectures at universities in Sweden, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Portugal, and Cuba. Since 2006, he has given regular lectures at the Institute of Church Music in Opole. His contribution to building Polish-German relations has been recognised with an honorary order from the University of Opole. He has participated in musical recordings as a solo organist and as a member of a musical ensemble, and collaborated as a publisher and editor of the series „Sacri concentus Ratisbonenses”.

Stefan Baier sits on the jury of numerous music competitions and performs on the organ and harpsichord in many countries across Europe, North Africa, Japan, and Cuba. Since January 2013, Prof. Baier has served as Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Directors of Catholic Church Music Education Centres in Germany.
