Valeriy Filipov He is a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and educator. He graduated with honours from the Music High School in guitar class and the P. Tchaikovsky Kyiv Conservatory, obtaining a diploma in three specialisms: concert performer, conductor, and classical guitar teacher.

Even as a student, he performed in many cities of the former USSR and Czechoslovakia. In 1986, as part of a cultural initiative following the Chernobyl disaster, he performed in the affected areas. In 1991, he became a laureate of the All-Ukrainian Guitar Competition in Donetsk, and in 2004 – of the International Festival of Unique Instrument Playing in Starogard Gdański. He has performed in Russia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Denmark, and Lithuania, among other countries.

Since 1984, he worked as a teacher at the Kyiv Conservatory of Music, and after moving to Poland in 1993, he continued his teaching activities at the Private Art Music School in Gdańsk. Concurrently, he pursues an active artistic career, performing on stages including the Baltic Opera, the Musical Theatre in Gdynia, the Knights' Castle in Skarszewy, and the Polish Baltic Philharmonic.

Filipov's repertoire encompasses classical works by Sor, Giuliani, Albeniz and Villa-Lobos, as well as his own arrangements of music by Mozart, Beethoven, folk tunes, carols, and jazz standards and The Beatles' songs. He is also the composer of original compositions.

The artist is a multi-instrumentalist – they play the guitar, harmonica, panpipes, and the rarely heard musical saw, among other instruments. They sing Russian romances, Ukrainian dumky, Polish melodies, sea shanties, as well as English-language popular music standards and blues.

He performed with many famous artists and bands, including Marcel's Gang, Rudi Schubert, Piotr Gąsowski, Anna Dymna, Cappella Gedanensis, Waldemar Malicki, as well as alongside Małgorzata Potocka and Andrzej Rosiewicz.
