Food was once a form of survival, community – and resistance. What Solidarity cooked and what the everyday kitchen was like will be told by Dr Przemysław Ruchlewski, Deputy Director for Science and Collections Head of the Department of Science and Collections. We will talk about the book „Kitchen (in) the Polish People's Republic”. The book focuses on how the economic and political difficulties of the 1960s and 1970s influenced eating and cooking habits during that period. Potato pancakes will be available to try in several versions – even in burger form.
