Music in the Monuments of Old Gdańsk – Concerts by the Polish Baltic Philharmonic

4–8.08, 19:00, free admission
Location:

Spend a pleasant evening with chamber music at its finest, along with the history of the venues where you'll hear it! Music in the Monuments of Old Gdańsk combines a concert with a short historical talk introducing the building. On 4 August, at St Barbara's Church, three artists of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic will perform works including those of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel: flautist Elżbieta Drozdowska, violist Aleksandra Stadniczenko and harpist Carlos Peña Montoya. On 5 August, in the Chamber Hall of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic, the music of Frédéric Chopin will be performed by the Baltic String Quartet (featuring violinists Tomasz Diakun and Hanna Pozorska, violist Tomasz Pozorski and cellist Barbara Mozgiel-Gierszewska) together with pianist Joanna Sochacka. On 6 August, we invite you to St James's Church, where works including those of Johann Sebastian Bach and Franz Schubert will be performed by Alisa Kopac (violin), Joanna Kravchenko (viola) and Weronika Kulpa (cello). On 7 August, the Baltic Wind Quintet will perform at St Joseph's Church, featuring Agnieszka Respondek (flute), Daniel Bernardino (oboe), Karol Respondek (clarinet), Ewa Naczk-Jankowska (bassoon) and Zbigniew Kaliciński (horn), with a programme including works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Frédéric Chopin. Finally, on 8 August, at the Old Town Hall, Adam Bruderek (violin), Małgorzata Bleja (cello) and Ewa Sarwińska-Kowalczyk (piano) will perform music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms.
