For the first time in the history of the St. Dominic's Fair, a brand-new event will feature on its grounds – a sporting discipline – „Dragon Show Gdańsk”, an international dragon boat competition held on a specially prepared modular pool, set up in the very centre of the city, right next to the iconic GDAŃSK sign.
The Dragon Show is a spectacle Gdańsk has never seen before. Unlike classic boat races, here two teams sit opposite each other on a single dragon boat and – in a direct, head-to-head clash – fight to push it to their side. Strength, synchronisation and strategy decide victory. Excitement is guaranteed for both participants and fans following every second of the competition from the shore.
The competition will be held in two categories – SPORT for experienced teams and AMATEUR for those wanting to face the challenge for the first time. Each team consists of six people, making the Dragon Show an excellent option for sports clubs, groups of friends, and corporate teams looking for something unique.
Dragon Show Gdańsk is a fully international event – we invite teams from all over Europe and the world to compete. The unique scenery of the Gdańsk waterfront, the atmosphere of Poland's oldest fair, and sporting competition on the water create a combination that is hard to find anywhere else.
